I’ve Got $10, What do I Buy?

Here’s my top picks for this week!  See the details and coupon links for each deal in yesterday’s post. While I typically limit myself to 2 stores per week, there are good deals at several stores this week.  I’ll probably visit three–Kroger, Wags and Target.  Pick your favorites from my $10 list below!

(For all the newcomers, the costs below assume you already have all of the coupons listed.  If you need information on where to get more coupons, check out my post on Where to Get More Coupons.  Also, if you’re from outside the Cincinnati area, double check your local store ads to make sure prices are the same.  Typically they don’t vary much from Louisville to Cincinnati, but sometimes they do.)

First stop, Kroger:

Buy:

  • 2 Daisy Sour Cream, $1 each
  • 6 half gallons milk, $1 each
  • 4 Tennesee Pride Sausage Gravy, $1 each
  • 4 Lifesavers Candies, $1 each
  • 2 packets Fleischmann’s yeast, $1 each

Total BC (before coupons):  $18 plus tax

Use:

  • 2  .50/1 Daisy Sour Cream (SS 11/16/08)
  • 4  .55/1 Tennessee Pride Product (V 11/16/08)
  • 4  $1/1 Lifesavers Candy (SS 10/19/08)
  • 2  40/1 Fleischmanns Strip or Jar (SS 12/7/08)

Total AC (after coupons):  $6 plus tax

Second Stop, Meijer (optional)

Buy:

  • 10 Duncan Hines Carrot Cake Mix $1 each
  • 4 Coffee Mates, $1 each
  • 4 Land O’ Lakes tubs, $1 each (Cincinnati area only)

Total bc:  $18

Use

  • 10 Duncan Hines Carrot Cake $1/1 (SS 11/9/08)
  • 2 CoffeeMates .50/1 (RP 11/12)
  • 2 CoffeeMate $1/1 printables
  • 2 Land O Lakes .55/1 printables
  • 2 Land O Lakes .55/1 (10/12 SS)**

Total ac:  Free!

If I had an extra $10 to spend, I’d get 11 boxes of the Kellogg’s Mini Wheats at Meijer.  11 boxes after coupons = $9.68.

**These Land O Lakes q’s are two different q’s.  Both sets of 2 should double at Meijer–though you may have to watch the register to make sure they do.  Their policy is only the first two identical coupons double.  Since these are two different coupon–one a printable, one from the inserts–they are not identical and therefore all four should double.

Third stop, Target

buy:

  • 4 Air Wick Luminares  $4.99 each
  • 10 Rayovac batteries $1 each

Total bc:  $30 plus tax

Use:

(Target’s computers will beep on the Air Wick, as the coupon is for .01 more than the product.  Their corporate policy says they will adjust down the value of the coupon to the $4.99.  If you get trouble over this, ask for an LOD–the daily store mgr.)

Last stop, Walgreens

Buy:

  • 6 Scotch Tape 3 pks, $1 each
  • 10 Reynolds Wrap 20 sq ft, $1.49 each
  • 1 Schick Quattro Titanium razor, $6.99 each
  • 4 Maybelline Lipsticks, about $8 each, BOGO sale
  • 1 Kellogg’s cereal, $1.99 each

Total bc: $37.90 plus tax

Use:

  • 1 $1/1 Kellogg’s printable coupon
  • 4 Maybelline $4/1 (12/07)
  • 3 $1/2 Scotch tape q’s (11/23 SS)
  • 10 $1/1 Reynold’s Wrap (11/16 SS)
  • 1 .99 Walgreens in-ad coupon (only need one for all 10 boxes)
  • 1 $3/1 Schick razor q from EasySaver catalog in Walgreens stores
  • 1 $4/1 Schick razor from the December All You Magazine

Total ac: $3.99 plus tax

Altogether, that’s $103.90 before coupons, and $9.99 after coupons!  That’s a 90% savings!
