This morning we were kid-free, thanks to some very generous grandparents! So what exciting things did we decide to do with our freedom? Put the car in the shop and head out shopping! WoooHOoo! What exciting lives we lead!
Well, it did turn out to be a good day. We made three stops today. First to Target, to check out 90% off Halloween clearance, get in on the Kellogg’s cereal deal (last day) and try out the Glade deal. Second we hit Meijer, only 1/2 a mile from Target, and got 24 boxes of Jello for free! Third, we had another hour to kill so we headed out to Kroger, to take advantage (again) of the big sale this week.
Below are a few shots of our haul. I’ll break it down below. Our total Out of Pocket? $24.xx

I got:
- 10 Powerades (20 oz)
- 20 Vitamin Waters
- 5 Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats
- 5 Betty Crocker cookie mixes
- 9 Cottonelle
- 10 boxes Hefty quart zip bags
- 10 Hefty gallon zip bags
- 6 Old Fashioned Quaker Oats
- 24 Cherry Jello
- 4 Glade Vanilla Oil plug in warmers
- 5 Domino Sugar 5 lb bag
- 4 Fruit by the Foot boxes
- 3 boxes Saltines
- 2 TGI Friday’s snacks
- 1 Dale Jr NASCAR Halloween costume (normally $20, it was .99 cents on clearance!)
- 1 set glitter wings (normally $10, it was .99 on clearance!)
That totals $236.xx before coupons, sales and clearance specials. My out of pocket? $24.xx. Plus I earned $12 in OYNO cats at Meijer, $10 in gift cards at Target and another $15 in gift cards at Kroger! Plus the two costume items will make great Christmas gifts!
I did split the Kroger deals into three transactions, and I want to thank the Union store for being so friendly about it!
If you want to know about the coupons, look through my posts below about Kroger and Target sales! The Jello deal ends today…and the printable coupon is off Meijer’s website now, so I can’t link you guys to it. Sorry!
Comments
You mentioned “Plus I earned $12 in OYNO cats at Meijer”
What does ONYO stand for?
Off your next order. Cats are the catalina coupons that print out at the end of your order. I bought the jello and each set of three boxes will produce a cat of $2 off my next order at Meijer.
Where do you get all your powerade coupons etc? do you buy a lot on ebay?? You just seem to be able to pick up so much of each item .. i’m lucky to have 2-3 coupons for each. I saw on the other thread someone mentioned $2q for tylenol, maybe that was an online q?
I’m going to mention your class to someone at my Church tomorrow if you would be interested in doing a class in West Chester? It is right on the border of WC and Mason off of RT42 (cincy columbus rd)
Is your website down
What is the Glade deal?
I wanted to know about the glade deal also. I’ve read somewhere that if you buy 4 glade products at target you can get a 5 dollar gift card but i’m not clear about what glade products you have to buy.
Great job and Congratulations! You are so good at this! Thank you for being so generous in sharing with us and your charity.
Anne and Vanessa, its the holiday Glade, and they’ll be on a special endcap display. You buy 4 items and will get back a $5 gift card. There are numerous BOGO q’s out there, as well as $2 off blinkies at Kmart and other stores.
chanin14, I do buy them on ebay. I bought 60 or so back when they first came out. My husband and my son both drink a couple a week, and my younger brother is a mechanic who drinks 2-3 a day. I’ve maximized them as much as I can so that we can share the freebies!
can u use more then 1 coupon at a time like if i buy 5 boxes of cereal do i need 5 coupons or will 1 discount all 5.
You will need one coupon for each box of cereal.
Where can I find vitamin water q’s? I check on ebay and there were a bunch for auction but too expensive… any thoughts?
Thanks!!
IS COUPONS.COM ONE THAT STORES WILL LET YOU USE THEY LOOK A LITTLE FAKE TO ME SO I WAS JUST WONDERING
I had a great weekend too! I bought Bic Silky Touch razors & Crest Pro Health paste, and saved 85%, paying just $1 plus 33 cents for tax. I am starting to get better about my couponing, and saved no less than 45% at Meijer and Walgreens, also.
I could use some advice on what is a good way to reorganize my coupons. Currently they are in a wallet separated by category. Should I go for a binder with inserts, or get a new wallet and sort them alphabetically?
If you plan on doing this long term, go ahead and get the binder. Many places still have them on clearance–Staples and Target were two that I’ve heard of recently.
Get a binder–any binder, but 2″ to 3″ rings work best–and use the baseball card holders. I add in a zipper pouch to hold receipts, rainchecks and catalinas. And page protectors to hold store coupon policies.
If you are planning long-term, I’d also recommend one with extra pockets and a strap to make it easier to carry.
nbsp;chasity–coupons.com is the industry standard. Each coupon has a unique security code to ensure that they aren’t forged and can be tracked back to the user in case any fraud does occur. It gives the stores and the manufacturers a coupon they can trust.
