I love how you twist the cost/earnings number. Cost is cost. It cost you 26.59 for this visit, not 2.09.
This is a complete crock… by definition OYNOs commit you to purchasing more, so you have to include that cost in the analysis.
it’s all semantics people. she gave all the details, take it as you wish. she states she paid 29.59 oop.
way to go lmkia, great score! thanks for even more info on the deals
This is obviously a joke, as it is completely ridiculous. Plus, you forgot about the opportunity cost of the six hours spent cutting and organizing all those coupons. And how many Glade candles does one need?
Well, since I learned how to cut 10 inserts in under 30 minutes from LMKIA, I’m pretty sure she can too. No 6 hours needed.
LOTS of couponers count their ECB’s or Catalinas in the total cost of their order. We count them the same as if the store was giving us gift cards. Nothing fishy here–I ran this very deal today! Thanks LMKIA!!!!
Well, let’s see…in the past seven days she’s posted deals saving a total of $250. If she spent 6 hours doing that, as you accuse her of, then that would be earning $42 an hour. Now, I’m happy for you if you have a job earning $40 an hour, but most of us don’t. We like learning how to make money without spending it!
John, I assure you this is no joke. I do this kind of thing every single week. Look back through the posts and you’ll see it. There is a whole community of us who do this. It may not make sense to you, but its definitely real.
Oh, and the Glade candles make great gifts for teachers, kids living in dorms and those living in retirement homes/nursing homes. No actual flames, but good scent. I make ’survival kits’ with them, tylenol, nice lotions, tissues, chocolate and more for my kids’ teachers.
So.. you bought 6 glade flameless candles for 9.99 a piece, used 3 bogo coupons AND 3 $5 coupons.
Now, I’m wondering HOW you did that. The bogo Q’s would cover all 6 candles, and you can’t use more than 1 Q per item. So…..
also… they gave you multiple “oyno” on your purchase? bc when I’ve done deals with that before, I’ve had to do muliple orders to get each “oyno”.
Jealousy is a terrible thing! Don’t you have something better to do? You go LMKIA, you’ve taught me so much!
Counting OYNOs is tricky. If I have already counted those , say, $18 OYNOs way back when I earned them - then I would not include them in current calculations. And I usually don’t. BUT…
If you “roll” OYNOs - it s whole different story. Say 6 bottles of Poweraide cost $4.04 after coupons, so if I use 4OYNOs from some other deal to pay for this (say candle deal), and get $4 OYNOs for buying 6 Poweraid at the end of this transaction - I’d say I payed 4 cents for 6 bottles of sports drink.
To Jon: not to be rude, but a male won’t get it (not until he is over 50, if ever).
Imagine you were born with a uterus - you’d be doomed to give birth, breastfeed, loose and gain same 50 lbs each time you give birth to a human being. Then cook, clean and stay home to care for kids and older parents(i.e. give up a PAYED job to take on an very little appreciated and UNPAID one). God forbid you get a good education and go try to get a job - you will be the last one to be hired, because all the mentioned above “disabilities” make you less competitive than a male.
Does this all coupon “sudoku” sound like a joke? Yes, untill you get a uterus. Then you’ll discover that this is a smart way to earn money while taking care of kids and older parents.
John, I must say it is good to see that the guys are trying to get it. Maybe if you keep checking back you might see just what a great web sight this is.
Lmkis just want to say thank you for all the help you give us and please keep up the good work.

Tiffany, three months ago I would have agreed with you. I thought BOGO covered two items. I was informed by many people, including mods at HotCouponWorld, that its not true. The $5 coupon covers the first item. Now I’ve bought one, so the BOGO coupon covers the second one. Its one coupon per item–two coupons, two items. The exception would be if it was a BOGO sale where you’re using a BOGO coupon–at that point both items are already free. I have talked with store managers to double check this information–and its true!
On the catalinas, you’re very correct. Most of the time you get one catalina and one only. However, these Glade cats are working differently. I bought 7 glade plug ins last weekend and got 7 $2 cats, all in the same transaction. Its happening at Kroger too. Powerade and Wheat Thins are still one per transaction, but they print after you pay. The Glade ones are triggered as soon as you scan the items required, and print right away.
Yes, with those catalinas that litarally make you money - you can count same as cash. Isn’t this just mind blowing - make money by shopping. I always thought it was some kind of scam when I heard about it
It doesn’t seem like I get Cats for items I buy.. It is so hit or miss, if I buy frzn. pizza a get a cat for a Hot Pocket (which we don’t eat..)if I buy Can’t believe its not butter I get a cat for Smart Balance (again we don’t use Smart Balance ICBitsNB is much cheaper).. How can I get the good Cats????
LMKIA…I’m starting to feel a little deflated. I have my binder…get as many coupons as possible…shop by coupons and sales…and I’m still spending $150/wk for a family of 2 adults, 1 3-yr old and 1 6-month old. Granted, I know formula, diapers, wipes, etc, are pricey. The reason for my “deflation” is I see all of your OYNO, etc, but just as Brooke mentioned…I don’t usually get those for items I buy. For example, if I buy Similac, I will get OYNO for Good Start formula…HELP!!!
My spending is very focused and detailed. I do whatever I can to only spend money on things that are free or give me money back. I don’t mind buying Glade candles b/c I not only use them (two kids and a cat, we love those babies!) but because I get $4 back for each one. I work to only buy things when they are the lowest possible price. It takes time, time for your stockpile to build so that you can be that focused. But it is possible. I should add that I don’t get these Cats randomly–I know I’m going to get them before I walk in the door. I’ve typically read about them on some message board or blog, know they’re an item I can use and have coupons for, and add them to my list.
Diapers do make it tricky. I’m waiting for good diaper sales–they usually appear this time of year!
LMKIA - you mention you know about cats on message boards and blogs…would you mind sharing some of those?
Hot Coupon World is a great resource for that. Go to individual store threads and they often have threads just for Cat discussions. HCW can be overwhelming at first…if it is, stick with one or two stores till you get the hang of it!
We talk about them some at Cincymoms, sometimes over at Slickdeals you’ll see them mentioned in a thread, and over at Fatwallet. Some of the bloggers like myself, Moneysavingmom and Mommysnacks mention them too.
