Not a huge list of deals, but still three worth running! Two are at Target, the third is at CVS. As always, the $10 price assumes you already have the coupons you need.
Target has a great sale on PopTarts this week. And if you have men, teens or kids, you know these are a favorite! Even better, its the big boxes on sale! 12 ct boxes of PopTarts are 4/$9, with a $5 Target gift card when you buy 4! Now, use the .50/1 printable found at HotCouponWorld, and the $1/2 coupon found in the 8/3 Kellogg’s insert, and you’ve got 4 boxes for $5. Now, turn around and buy 4 more, using the same coupons, pay with the $5 gift card you just got–they’re free!
From there, head over to the detergent aisle, and pick up some Tide Total Care. (I like the HE version for my front loading washer.) Its on sale at my store for $6.74. (prices can vary) Don’t get the $10 ones–too big. Much better value after coupons on the smaller ones. Anyway, use this $1/1 Target printable, and the $1/1 Tide Totalcare that was in this past weekend’s P&G Saver. You’ll get a bottle of 32 loads for $4.74. Not the best price ever–but considering the impending 16% price raise this month, a pretty good deal!
Then drive over to CVS, run to the CoverGirl section, and pick out 2 lipsticks which are on sale this week BOGO. Pull out the CoverGirl coupon from this weekend’s P&G Saver for BOGO Lip products–and get both lipsticks free! I personally love the Outlast series….but I know that some of the other Wetslicks have a $5.99 ECB on them–so not only would the Wetslicks be free, but they’d make you money!
So…
8 boxes 12 ct Poptarts–$5
1 Tide Totalcare 32 loads–$4.74
2 Covergirl lipsticks–free
Total before taxes: $9.74!
One last thing–on deals like the CoverGirl and Poptarts, please be respectful of fellow shoppers. Don’t buy 20 at once! The stores don’t like it, and neither do your fellow shoppers. Here at my blog we try to follow the golden rule–do unto the stores and other shoppers as you’d have done to you. I never suggest getting more than 10 of any item at once. Its just not nice. Besides, I firmly believe that if you leave some on the shelf for others, then when you need something, it will be on the shelf for you. And if you want more than 10, talk to your local store manager. Many of them will be happy to order you 20 or 40 of whatever you want. That way, the store gets the sales, you get the product, and there will be plenty on the shelves for couponers who buy in smaller amounts!

Help, I’m not following…. if the pop tarts are 9 less the 1.50 in coupons the total comes to 7.5 for the one box of pop tarts. Are you using several 1.00 & .50 coupons if so how many can you use per order?
Thanks!

Could not get the coupon from Hotcoupons.
Does it have to be Poptarts to get the $5 gift card? Or can it be any Kellogg’s snacks?
Peggy–the poptarts are 4 boxes for $9. Use 2 of the $1/2 coupons from the paper and 4 of the .50/1 from Target, and you end up with 4 boxes for $5. You’ll get the $5 gift card in return. There should be no limit on the number of coupons you can use in one transaction–however, I typically limit my purchases to 10 of the same item or less. Target’s corporate policy says they have the right to limit you to ‘reasonable family-sized quantities.’
Tonya, you’re right, it is kellogg’s snacks, but not any. Just the ones in the ad. The PopTarts happens to be the best deal for the least amount of money, which is why it was featured in the blog on only spending $10. On HCW, did you register? Or try Afullcup.com.
Thanks! I didn’t think you could use muliply coupons for one item. So if I have 2/1.00 off coupons for say Corn Pops and the cereal is priced at 2.50 I can use both of those coupons on the one box? Final cost would be .50. Sorry for sounding dumb but this is all new to me
Peggy–only if one is a store coupon and the other is a manufacturer. You cannot use two store or two manufacturer coupons on the same item. But you can combine one store and one manufacturer on one item.
Best find I’ve found is at Meijers. This week Aunt Millies Butter Top White/Whole Wheat Bread is .$99. You are saving $2.20 PER LOAF. I stocked up with 4 this week, even though I’m trying to take the clean out the pantry challenge. I couldn’t pass up the deal, my family loves Aunt Millies Whole Wheat Bread!!
Have you mentioned about joining Box Tops of Education site. I know most schools in our Northern Kentucky area collect box tops. I just got on and printed out 25 $1.00 coupons on items that have the box tops..some are for sweet stuff/fruit roll ups etc..but alot of them are healthy cereals, breakfast bars, etc..Just an FYI.
Many K-Marts are doing DOUBLE coupons up to $2 not all but some. Call your K-Mart to see if they are doing it or call 1-866-562-7848 and ask to see if they are doing it near a loved one. I have one in NH and A BUNCH in CA. None in WA. These were the states I asked about. OH MY GOODNESS, I did this last year and CLEANED UP!!! Wish they were doing it by me again but I think today I will be getting coupons ready for family in CA and over nighting them. LOL
Oh yeah, go to K-Mart.com and sign up to get a $5 off $50 coupon too. WOW this could be REALLY good. I might make the 1.5 hour drive for this.
I am confused with the lipsticks, if the coupon is BOGO and the sale is BOGO, how are you getting two for free?? Don’t you have to at least buy one, how does a BUY one get one coupon pay for an item?? BTW, I LOVE this site I am so sad that I am going on vacation and will be away from my computer for a week.. I will have some catching up to do when I get back!
This is one of the secrets of the coupon industry…The coupon pays for the first item, and the store gives you the second one!!!
Love this artical…will you do the $10.00 thing weekly and if so what day? I will be sure to watch for it.
Amy, I do the $10 rundown frequently. Not every week though. I do it on weeks when there are enough good deals to warrant it. I try to get it out by Monday afternoon–but since I’m the mom of two young kids, sometimes life gets in the way! One other reason for letting it go a day or two after the sales start–reports will come in on various message boards that let me know if there are any special rules on the deals, what works and what doesn’t. I spend a great deal of time reading others’ experiences before I post deals here–to make sure you guys have the easiest deals possible!
Its a decent week this week. I’m still looking at all of the deals. I should have one up tomorrow!
