This week’s deals

Really, its pretty slim pickins.  I won’t be taking too many trips to the store this week.  All of the grocery deals seem ho-hum to me.  If you have the free Sara Lee bread coupon from last week’s paper, might be a good week to use it.  Same with the Cottonelle coupon from this weekend’s paper–.50/1 doubles at Kroger to $1, and they have 4 roll pkgs for $.99.  That’s not a sale price–its a permanent price.  So no need to rush!

Might be a good week to begin stockpiling normal priced items from P&G if you haven’t already stockpiled them.  They announced in July that prices will be rising 16% (we’ve talked about it here before) in September.  There are some good q’s about to expire–might be time to use them before the prices rise even more.  I’m not one to often suggest paying full price–but considering that in a week or two a bottle of Tide will cost you .90 more than it does today, I’m seriously considering it myself.

There are a few good freebies at the school supply sales.  Staples has pencil sharpeners for free, and slide open pencil cases for .05.  I love those pencil cases to keep crayons, colored pencils and other art supplies in.  I’ve taken a sharpie and written on them the names of each item inside, so my kids can easily find them.  They’re also color coded, so my daughter who doesn’t read yet, can also easily find the crayons vs the markers, and the stamps from the stickers.  Staples also has free erasers and free 2 pocket folders.  I also love the .25 binders–we fill them with paper and mark them for each child. My son loves to write stories so he has one just for his stories–its like having his own book.  My daughter loves to draw and color so we fill them with a combination of blank pages and printed coloring sheets for her to color in.  Her own refillable coloring book!  Office Max has .20 filler paper and .25 kids scissors–pretty good deals.  And Office Depot has Slim Staplers for free after MIR.  Remember that each match the other’s prices on items they carry.

Unless something totally amazing pops up, I won’t be doing the $10 post this week.  There’s just not enough in the way of deals!
