Free Gas and (nearly) free Pop-Tarts!

Its a pretty slow week for deals, but there are a few good ones out there!

Start by heading over to Speedway’s site and signing up for a Speedway Speedy Reward Card, which they load up with 8500 points, enough for a FREE $10 gas card!  Takes a few weeks to get here, but well worth it!  Update:  The site appears to be hit-or-miss.  Try it a couple times a day–it comes and it goes. I know people who signed up in July who just got their cards.  I signed up yesterday, so the offer is still available!

From there, head over to Afullcup.com and print out several PopTart coupons from Target.  Add in the $1/2 coupons that were in the paper on 8/3, and head to Target.  There they have boxes of Poptarts for $1.67.  Use the two coupons, and you’re paying .67 a box!  Even better deal is to grab the Milkshake flavors, which are priced at $1.17.  You’ll get PopTarts for only .17 a box!

10 boxes of PopTarts (milkshake flavor)

total bc:  11.17

Use:

10 .50/1 Poptart q from Target

5 $1/2 Poptart q’s from paper

Total ac:  $1.17 plus tax!!!

Now, pull out that rebate form (also in the paper)–buy $10 Kellogg’s product, get $10 back!  Kellogg’s will be paying you to eat Poptarts!  Excellent!

I am fan of you website - I’m glad my local news did a story about it. I submitted a recipe last week for your contest, and wanted to make sure you got it. I am looking forward to getting some great ideas from other people - when will you post the recipes? Thanks a million!

LMKIA: I just wanted to thank you for all the work you do with couponing and saving money! I tried to do this years ago, and was not motivated. Thanks to people like you, I see it is possible to save a lot of money and get great deals. Keep up the good work!

Mandy, thanks, I did get them. Some got accidentally sent to the spam box, so just when I thought I had it all ready to go….I had to go back and add in those submissions! I should have them up tomorrow!

I’ve also been working on Littlemissknowitall.net, a site that will host a bit of the stuff and information we have here…and since I’m no programmer, its been taking up more of my time than I’d like!

BTW Mandy, where are you located? The interviews I did were all local, but I’ve been amused at how far out they’ve been seen!

I’m near Phoenix, Arizona…quite a ways away from Cincinnati! Here’s the link to the article from ABC15 - they have a feature called Smart Shopper that I check every day. That’s were the link to your blog was, and I’m so glad!!!

Amy, I saw that and laughed. I write many of my blogs a day or two ahead, and then set them to post at certain times of the day. That way if life gets crazy, there are still posts coming out. Anyway, when I saw your post, I thought, LOL, I’ve got a blog on that!

I have a question regarding use of coupons. I recently picked up the pack of coupons from Kellogs where if you buy 2 certain items you receive a discount of a third item. Example but kellogs pop tarts and kellogs cereal receive $2 off milk. Can I use seperate coupons to help bring the cost of the first two items down and then use the coupon to get the $ off? Thanks

I posted this yesterday, but I guess my comment didn’t show up. I am in the Phoenix, Arizona area. It was our local ABC station that posted an article about you. I’m so glad they did!

I just wanted to pass on that the Target by me had their pop tarts at $1.89 and the milkshake ones were $1.69. I shop at the one in Middletown though, so that may be the price difference…I still got a good deal though!!!!

I know I’m late in posting this. But on Saturday I went to my target on Colerain with my coupons printed from the website excited about the deal on pop tarts. They ended up not taking my coupons since they would not scan. The cashier was very nice and tried to scan each coupon but they would not take and she said she is no longer able to key in the numbers from the coupons. I was a little disapointed, but didn’t want to make a big deal. so no pop tarts for me. Does anyone else have trouble with printed target coupons?
    Thanks!

I’ve not, but many times its the scanner. Did she use the hand scanner? Almost always the target ones need the hand scanner. If that doesn’t work, have them try them at another lane. If you’re ever wondering if they will scan, here’s a quick trick–scan them at the price check scanners. Now, they’ll beep and say Item Not Found, but if they beep at all that means the scanner picked them up–they will scan at the register, as long as the hand scanner is calibrated properly.

Next time you run into that, you can always walk over to the bridal registry computers, log onto Target.com and print the coupons right from the kiosks! In fact, you may be able to call the store, tell them what happened and ask if you can bring the receipt and new printouts of the coupons in. They should be able to scan the receipt, then the coupons, and refund your money!
