Frugal in Virginia has a great post up this week, from her husband Ryan. He (very funnily) describes what its like to be the husband of a ‘Frugal.’ (I love that term! So much better than coupon queen–which just sounds so egotistical!) I totally understand everything he’s saying–but from his wife’s point of view. If you’re a Frugal, or on your way to being one, share this blog with your significant other. They’ll appreciate the commiseration!!

I’m a newcomer to the couponing world! I’ve become much more aware of ads, double coupons, free samples, etc. I have my binder full of baseball card sheets packed with my coupons, seperated by category. I had my most exciting trip to the grocery store to date! I went to Meijer on Sunday and used $25 worth of coupons, along with $45 in store sales for a total of $65 savings. But, here’s the best one!
Meijer had Kellogs cereal or Nutri Grain bars 5 for $9 = $1.80 each
I bought:
1 box of Nutri Grain Bars - originally $3.32 - on sale for $1.80 - minus my $1.00 coupon = $.80
1 box of Nutri Grain Bars - originally $3.32 - on sale for $1.80 - minus my $1.00 coupon = $.80
1 box of Nutri Grain Bars - originally $3.32 - on sale for $1.80 - minus my $1.00 coupon = $.80
1 box of Nutri Grain Bars - originally $3.32 - on sale for $1.80 - minus my $1.00 coupon = $.80
1 box of Cereal - originally $3.57 - on sale for $1.80 - minus my $1.00 coupon = $.80
ORIGINAL PRICE: $16.85
MY PRICE: $4
Hi Heather! (So funny saying that…since its my name too!)
Anyway, where did you get the $1 q’s? From inside the boxes?
I have $1 off of 2- but- I would love to know where to get the $1 off per
I got them in the mail, from Kelloggs directly. I’m not sure how (I’m sure it must have been from one of the many coupon sites I’ve been on).
